I've been having a rough go of it lately - as much as I try to stay positive, some days are just plain shitty. Having those days makes special moments and surprise packages more meaningful. One of those special packages arrived on my doorstep yesterday and I opened it to find a beautiful necklace shaped like a star, engraved with the word Shine! on it. The name Esther means "star" and for as long as I can remember, my mother has kept her eyes peeled for all things star related. I love this necklace not just because it's simple and elegant but because that little word is a gracious reminder that I can be me.
