Yes! I buy into the hype of making resolutions at the beginning of each New Year. I am, however, very adamant about starting something when you first feel you need to start it (ie, a diet) instead of waiting until an appointed time. But I love the opportunity of a fresh, clean slate. As much as I hated summer ending every year, I was always excited about brand new notebooks, a new set of school clothes and a fresh pair of shoes. The same goes for the beginning of each new year.
While Casey and I rang in twothousandtwelve quietly, my mind has been humming with projects that I've been wanting to tackle for quite some time.
First : P u r g e. With a capital P. I'm doing this in order to make more space in our home and also to turn the things I no longer want in to cash. Well, with some of it at least. I won't be trying to sell it, nor do I know why I still have my 7th grade environmental camping trip scrap book. I don't have the space to keep it and I'm not gaining anything from keeping it. For the memories, some will say. But really? It mostly just takes me back to how awkward I was at that time, not to mention boy crazy and weird crushes. No thank you.
Second : one picture per day. I really want to be more thoughtful about what I'm doing each day. Taking a picture and sharing it with the realm of the internerd is one way to accomplish this. Plus it will count for one of my items on my 30beforethirty list.
Today, I have two photos. The scrumptious Mango & Peach smoothie I made this morning. Delicious and nutritious. And the beginning of the p u r g e. Going through my barely used wallets and listing them on eBay, pictured below my Liberty for Target wallet (not listed yet). Next up, my closet.
Happy New Year, all!
